Grade 10, 11 & 12 Technology Education Courses
The mission of the Technology Education Department is to provide quality and varied educational opportunities that support all students in realizing their fullest potential in a learning community and that facilitate the ongoing development of responsible adults for success in an ever-changing technological world.
TECHNOLOGY EDUCATION DEPARTMENT
The Ludlow High School Technology Education Department suggests a four-year program in the Technological and Industrial Arts program in order to best prepare a student for possible post-graduation from high school in entry-level employment or further specialized educational training.
A combination of both exploratory, skill enhancement and developmental offerings will seek to put emphasis on social and personal desires, leisure-time possibilities, and current employment opportunities.
DRAFTING
The three year Drawing program at Ludlow High School serves a dual purpose; first to develop and train future draftsperson and detailers for vocational competence and employment and second to give potential engineering students the opportunity to acquire information and to develop skills for college.

This course is a foundation to every technology course offered at Ludlow High School. The course is designed to meet the seven Massachusetts standards in technology and engineering required by students to pass MCAS. This course also provides a strong foundation in physics and offers students an opportunity to explore the school, historical, and environmental contexts surrounding emerging technologies. The course is not intended exclusively for pre-engineering students. Its central goals are to help students pass MCAS by supporting the state's curriculum frameworks, by building technological literacy, by giving students a practical understanding of how we all are influenced by technology, and how we are influencing future technological development by the choices we make as workers, consumers and citizens.
CONSTRUCTION AND MANUFACTURING
This program of studies is geared to produce an increased understanding of the possible career choices a student will have after high school. These students will be exposed to both technical school and college options. Higher learning is the goal for all students.
