How Stuff Works - Energy:
Includes articles on many different conventional and alternative energy sources.

US Energy Information Administration - Energy Kids:
Information on different renewable and nonrenewable energy sources. Also includes a section with statistics on energy production and consumption in the United States.

US Department of Energy:
Information about various sources of energy. Be sure to check all the links in each article for more information, some of it is buried behind two or three links.

National Renewable Energy Laboratory:
Includes details about renewable energy sources. Also features maps showing the potential for various energy sources in the United States.
