SECTION I

PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE

As principal, I welcome back all the returning students of Ludlow High School and our new freshman class to a new school year. We enjoy one of the finest facilities in the area, and I'm sure that these improvements both inside and outside will enhance your total educational experience.

Our mission at Ludlow High School is to provide quality and varied educational opportunities that support all students in realizing their fullest potential in a learning community and that facilitate the ongoing development of responsible adults for success in a dynamic and diverse world. You should also be familiar with our expectations for your learning experience at LHS.

This handbook is prepared for your information and guidance. Its primary purpose is to acquaint each member of the student body with the rules, regulations, and general policies, which constitute essential information for all students at Ludlow High School. Please read the handbook carefully, as you will be held responsible for its contents as it relates to policies and procedures. The information in the handbook will also help to make your days in high school more meaningful and enjoyable.

Our academic and Co-curricular programs have been organized and funded for your benefit, and are designed to support our expectations for your learning experiences at LHS. Don't allow these opportunities to pass you by. I encourage you to take full advantage of every educational chance available to you during your high school career.

I hope all of you will take an active part in school life at LHS and that your school experience in 2008-2009 will be both pleasant and educationally rewarding.

Sincerely,

Gordon Smith, Principal
